Barb Milne

BarbĀ is a passionate advocate for inclusion, self-determination, and the power of lived experience to create meaningful and lasting change. She believes everyone deserves the opportunity to be heard, valued, respected, and involved in decisions that affect their lives.
With almost 20 years of experience across mental health, suicide prevention, disability advocacy, youth engagement, and community development, Barb has dedicated her career to supporting individuals and communities to thrive. She currently serves as Manager of Growth & Innovation (Tasmania) at Each, where she works to strengthen wellbeing through innovative, collaborative, and community-led approaches.
Living with ADHD herself, Barb understands the importance of creating environments where people feel accepted, understood, and empowered to contribute in ways that reflect their individual strengths, experiences, and aspirations.
Barb recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Promotion and combines evidence-informed practice with a practical understanding of what works on the ground. She is an experienced speaker, facilitator, and advocate who enjoys bringing people together through stories, shared learning, and meaningful conversation.
In addition to her role with Speak Out, Barb serves as Chair of the National Rural Mental Health Conference Program Advisory Committee, helping bring together people, ideas, and innovation to strengthen mental health and wellbeing across rural and regional Australia.
At the heart of everything Barb does is a commitment to building communities where people feel connected, included, and empowered to live the lives they choose.
