The Speak Out Conference started in 1982.

It was made for people moving from institutions to living in the community.

 

Our conference is the longest-running in Australia for people with intellectual disability. 

 

​We follow the idea of "Nothing About Us Without Us."

 

This means people with intellectual disability:

• Are part of planning the conference

• Are part of the committees

• Run the conference as MCs and presenters
